Finding a doctor who took her seriously

For years, I’ve suffered from stabbing pains near my ribs while on my period. I went to several doctors about my pain, but they all said they had never heard of such a thing. I even had one doctor laugh at me.

A few years ago, I was due to have surgery to remove my gallbladder. Before the surgery, I told the doctor about the pains near my ribs. Luckily, he took me seriously! He agreed to do an exploratory surgery while removing my gallbladder.


I went to several doctors about my pain, but they all said they had never heard of such a thing. I even had one doctor laugh at me.



After my surgery, he told me that he had found endometriosis lesions on my diaphragm. And that’s how I was diagnosed. Never give up trying to find a doctor who will listen to you and believe you. I didn’t, and I’m so glad, because now I know what was causing those mysterious pains.
