Endometriosis Patient Story - daily life

Endometriosis has affected my life for many years. From the day that I first got my period at age 11, I have been in agony. I live in constant pain, and it gets worse when I’m on my period. I’ve had 5 surgeries for endometriosis and have been on many medications throughout the years to try to manage it, but I’m still struggling.

I exercise frequently and I’ve even changed my whole diet around but, still, the pain hasn’t really gotten better, and the bleeding hasn’t lessened. I often find myself in the hospital either because I am in so much pain or because I am weak from bleeding heavily. I try to talk about endometriosis with others but, if they don’t have it, they can’t seem to relate. And, I avoid dating, because I’m not sure someone could handle all the stress in my life.

I know that as women,

we are much stronger than we think.

Having endometriosis isn’t easy, but I try to stay positive. I know that as women, we are much stronger than we think. And, I feel better when I’m able to be a source of strength and comfort for other women who are also experiencing this. Together, I know we can raise awareness and make a difference.
